What is the purpose of the Business you own (or are working for)?

    Once you have determined:
    a) what makes you happy, and
    b) what you want to do with your life, then it follows that it would be a good idea to find a business vehicle that will help you achieve your objectives.

How is the product or service provided by the business adding value to your fellow men/women?  Where does the business wish to be in 5/10 years?  What are the values that drive this business?

Do the answers to these questions sit comfortably with your own purpose for being, vision and values.  Are you able to align your personal goals with those of the business?

These are a few of the questions you need to answer before deciding whether or not you want to "Add Value" to that business.

If you do not love doing what you do in the business sense, how can you expect to be pro-active, innovative and enthusiastic – the attributes most employers are looking for?

Will this business allow you to exercise your skills, talents and abilities to the fullest?

If the answer is NO then perhaps you should be looking for another opportunity.

Easier said than done, but remember this life is not a dress rehearsal for the next, so make the most of it!

    SUMMARY

If you are able to align your personal goals with those of the business and at the same time add value to other people's lives then you should indeed be a happy person.
